About the Homesick Yorkshire lass

Melanie aka HomesickYorkshirelass is living a life full of wool. My Mum taught my sisters and I to knit when we were very young. I took it up again when I moved to Melbourne in 2005 because I needed a hobby and I felt a woolly connection to my Yorkshire roots. This has led to spinning which then led to blending fibres by hand on my hackles and occasional dabbling with dyes. I’m passionate about woolly wool and rare breeds of sheep in particular British breeds.  I’m interested in environmental issues and sustainability. I’m a bit of a foodie and Yorkshire tea addict.

I moved back to the UK in January of 2014 with her two lovely adult sons.

  1. Hi Mel,
Keep your chin up, we miss you too.
How’s the theatre training going?, I told someone today that you were a theatre sister by mistake, mind you, it’s not beyond your capabilities. Keep up the good work.

    Lots of love,
